franz josef - winter wonderland

or is it? mid twenties temperatures, blue sky, nice breeze and enormous
mountains & glaciers in the background... can nature be any more
beautiful?
arriving at 1:30 in the franz josef town i got the urge to splurge it once again - helicopter hike up the glacier!
hell that was fun - 10 min ride up and 3 hours hike in white ice and crystal blue lakes & caves
the weather was perfect and temperatures nice - you walk around in shorts & tshirt with a goretex rain jacket
hiking on ice was great fun as well, why have i never done that in switzerland?
my second day in franz josef started with uploading pictures... took forever and pressured me to go outside - so i hiked up to the glacier and back through a forest track - amazing scenery with perfect weather again and i found myself even standing next to a bambi like deer in the forest
i cannot understand people staying here only one night - it's an expensive and small town, but so much to see in the surroundings
