All about my trip to Edinburgh, the backpacking tour through the Highlands & Isle of Skye with 'Wild in Scotland' and one additional lazy day in Edinburgh enjoying the festival.

fringe festival in edinburgh

on my last day in scotland, i encountered the scottish weather for the first time in its not so pleasant form :) but it was a good incentive to try some more fringe festival shows. learned from my mistakes of day one i queued at the half price booth and used the waiting time to schedule my day.

the shows were mostly crap... but rob spence! i love this guy, the scottish didnt seem to like him but i guess he must hit some swiss nerves with his shows - he's quite popular in our country for some reason :)

in between the shows i climbed up arthur's seat... wow! didnt expect it that near to the city and with such a breathtaking view from the top. it was quite steep but worth the effort

after rob i tried to capture the athmosphere on the royal mile where the tattoo guests were moving up to castle - it was filled with tourists and just a beautiful scenery. some last pictures and it was time to head for the journey back.. again in a uncomfortable coach but it felt less bad than the week before

I enjoyed your blog about Scotland - at least it gave me some tips of what to see while there :)
