Day 3 in DC!
September 8, 2006
I was feeling a little under the weather today so I got a pretty late start but I did get a couple things accomplished. I met up with Dan at the restaurant for lunch and then headed out on my own. My first stop was Ford's Theater. The workers were in the process of setting up for the next production so some of the areas were closed off. I managed to snap a couple pictures and headed across the street to the Peterson House. After taking some pictures and talking with the guide for a bit I walked down the street towards the Old Post Office. I'd been here before about 8 years ago on a school trip but we were rushed through. I found out that there was actually a tour of the clock tower available. Our guide told us that the clock tower was the tallest building in DC and the third tallest tower. The view was definitely great though. After I made my way back down to the lower level I decided it was time to shop! I found a place that sold really cute t-shirts so I splurged and bought myself one. :-) I also picked up some post cards to mail back to the family in Ohio.
Tomorrow I believe I'll walk to the White House and do some sight seeing in that area :-)
