Day 2 of Exploring
September 7, 2006
I took Dan out today to do some sight seeing before he had to go to work. We walked to the American History Museum, a place both of us wanted to see, only to find out its closed until the summer of 2008 for major rennovations :-( major bummer! Afterwards we walked to the American Indian Museum. Dan's always had a facination with Indians so he absolutely loved it. We both have Cherokee heritage so we were especially interested in learning about them. In one exhibit we learned about the launguage and watched a video on the creation of the written form. We were both pretty amazed so on the way out of the museum we looked for a book which taught it. We found one, and chances are we'll probably stop back there before we leave the city to purchase it. We spend a lot of time in the museum and after grabbing a quick bite to eat it was time to head back to the room so Dan could get ready for work. He's got some full days off coming up so hopefully he can see a bit more!
Also, I noticed that there's a farmer's market in the street below your room......I think I'll check it out and get some fresh fruit!
