I've lived on O`ahu all my life and I'm still discovering new things here. =)

I got LEI'd (not laid)

Before the ceremony.
On May 18, 2008, I officially became a graduate with a B.A. in translation and interpretation in Spanish.  I didn't want to walk in the graduation ceremony but I did just for my parents.  It did not hit me that I was graduating until the beginning of the ceremony.  My fellow graduates were excited and cheering and I felt like I was about to tear but I didn't.  I kept it in.  After that, I felt as excited as they were.  I think there were a little over 1500 graduates that day.  It took an hour just to announce everyone's names haha.  I liked the student speaker for our ceremony.  He's so funny and I liked his speech.  Well, of course, he's been doing stand-up comedy and he even opened for Damon Wayans.  Google "Jordan Savusa" and you'll find his myspace. =P  I was paying attention to the American Sign Language interpreter most of the time.

It's so cool watching her doing simultaneous interpreting and if she follows the code of ethics.  Man, I want to learn that and many other languages.  Hehe.

Oh yeah, one person definitely got a great graduation gift during the ceremony.  During the part of the ceremony where everyone's names were announced, as one girl walked off the stage after her name was called, her boyfriend walked up to her, took her hand, went on one knee, and proposed to her!!  Wow!  It would've been so messed up if she declined his proposal haha... and hopefully it wasn't an "on the spot" pressure that she had to say "yes" to him.  Hehe.  Anyway, that was so sweet.  They got their 15 minutes of fame.  That moment was on the news too!

Well, this day was a long day for me.
The ceremony inside the Stan Sheriff Center.
First, the ceremony.  Then, I got lei'd.  Lunch.  Then a dinner party and got lei'd some more.  To finish my big day, I went out with friends and drank.  I haven't drank in a loooooong time and I deserved it.  I remember one funny moment.  I was drunk that I accidentally sat on my friend's hand and I said, "Oops, my butt touch your hand."  Haha.  And you know what else?  When I came home and when I woke up the next day, my right butt cheek hurt and it was the same one where I sat on my friend's hand hahahaha.

Anyway, I FINALLY DID IT!  Now onto the real world.  I'm looking forward to the future!! =)
