A Getaway to Turtle Bay
August 17, 2008
I'm on a little vacation!! I'm on
vacation on the other side of the island. So, I'm on a staycation. =P
I'm staying at the Turtle Bay Condos at the North Shore for about a
week. I'm here with my brother, sister-in-law, niece, and my niece's
friend. My sister-in-law's mother manages the condos (I think) so we
don't pay for staying at the condos. Gotta love connections!
It's so nice to get away for a bit. I would love to travel but I don't have the money right now, so this is something. Plus, parents are getting on my nerves that I need to get away. I'm at the point where I will work almost any job, save money, and move to a different country.
Anyway, the North Shore is about one hour or so away from where I live (in Honolulu). My sister-in-law picked me up and we went grocery shopping to stock up on food and drinks for the condos. At one point when driving to the North Shore, there was a bit of traffic. I was amusing myself by taking pics with my camera phone (my digi cam was in my duffle bag in the trunk anyway). I took pics of motorcyclists coming from the opposite direction (there were many for some reason) and bicyclists' nice behinds. =P I took pic of the nice scenery too (or at least tried to).
I was tired that day because I only had about 4 hours of sleep. Though, the thing that woke me up nicely was a dip in the pool. I love the condos. I love the privacy of the pool too. There aren't many people using the pool; not too many tourists nor was it crowded.
After we swam at the pool for a bit, we walked to Turtle Bay Resort to buy goggles and then went to the beach. The beach was okay. I've been to better beaches.
The sun was setting but we couldn't see the sunset because the resort building was blocking the way. When the sun was going down, we walked back to the pool. Again, I love the privacy of the pool and it is so nice swimming in it at night. =) I haven't swam in a long while and it is so nice swimming again. I don't know how many hours I was swimming.
Of course, on my first night here, I drank alcohol. My brother made long island ice tea. The long island ice tea he made was so strong, which is a plus. After my second or third drink, I was already drunk. I was giggling and speaking Spanish, which I usually do when the alcohol starts to kick in. I was drunken chatting and messaging people after that. Not sure what else happened, but I didn't drink and swim. I swam and then drank. =D
