metro map with my travels on :)
It's a 'must' for metro riders (or so called metro-freaks like me) to come and see this. This is probably one of the most densest system in the world. But it's very old, almost every station has the same design, only very few of them look really amazing like something special. The most of them are just the white-tiles-station of the parisian style, side platforms, narrow entrances, one-way-corridors. Nevertheless it serves the city well, and most of the peoplle living or visiting Paris use this kind of transport. concerning the congestion on the surface trafic this is really the only way to move fast in the city.
Together with the suburban rail - RER (Reseau Express Regional) the metro creates a great system covering the entire city.
M7 where am i going?
My personal experiences: I became absolutely crazy at the first time here: i didn't ride buses, even when it was faster going by bus, i did always choose metro! At the end of my stay i relized that i don't know the city at all, i was appearing at one point, making sightseeing, then i was disappearing in the darkness of the parisian underground again, to move to another place. I spent almost one week riding metro - so i saw the day light only for that moments when i was visiting sights or going for lunch. The second time in Paris i was moving more on my own feet or riding buses sometimes to get the entire view of the city. As you can see on the pic with map, there are only really very few stations where i didn't ride by metro to. I'll do it next time for sure:D:D:D
