Finally i could get the impression of the full network, unlike last time, when i used only skytrain. As i was aware the metro of NY is one of the most dirty place among all the metros wolrwide. It's sometimes really crapy and looks like somewhere in the third world 9well, metros in the 3rd world look actually always good, so i dont know what i was trying to say;)
Anyways, since it's very unique system is very cool even when so dirty. It runs round the clock, has express lines and so on. This is the most important advantage and... disadvantage at the same time. It works pretty much well on the workdays, on weekends it starts to piss yu off.
We were trying to get on the local trains to get to Harlem on saturday. so we were staying at the local platform, but the trains kept coming as express trains there. We read the info about weekends so that we had to catch the local one at the oposite, but still there were only express coming there also. We were waiting something like 20 minutes or maybe more? It was annoying. The info at the platforms was not correct. The local trains disapeared fully. We decided then to catch the express and try to get back those few stations on local. And so we did. We took the express A uptown and then got on the local going downtown. It took us so much time. so if yu are traveling to NYC be aware, weekends and night services suck. Workdays are great;)
