NYC-Air train
NYC-subway was my dream! And it still is! Unfortunately... I was reading so much about that system, i know it from the pics and drom the stories of my friends, and when i came to NYC - i haven't got a chance to ride it! There was no time. I rode only the Sky Train at the JFK airport between terminals, when i was travelling to Slat Lake City. I was supposed to have over 4 hours at the airport, but our plane from Warszawa/Warsaw was a bit late, then the huge queue at imigration desk took a lot of time. When we have already collected our lugguge, we were supposed to go through another inspection to let them check - if we have something in our suitcases, that were not permitted, but... - yes, there was something strange - there was no sign for passangers in transfer so i asked an airport employee were should we go and he explained us the way.

We bypassed all the queues (for the lugguge inspection) - just like i was said by that man - and at the end of the hall, just right after the last queue we turned left - passed the inspectors who were checking the passangers, and we left, no one has stopped us, no one has asked, as we were unvisible for all the men, who was supposed to secure/protect?/ the border :P
So after we relized, that we have passed the inspection without have been inspected at all - we regreted, that we threw all the food we have brought! (for those who don't know it: when enterring USA - u are not allowed to bring any kind of food and other stuff, u have to throw it away) And we had so tasty sausages! Oh boy! If we only had knew it!!
Broken hearted [because of sausages ;) ] we went to the Sky Train station in order to move to the Delta Terminal. Then we got in rode to next station and got off. And then began the real horror! The Delta Terminal is maybe the worst mess in the world! Informations are inadequate, there are 50.000 people on a space of two parking spaces, queues are longer than the Long Island and they are crossing like the NY-subways lines - so u never know, if u are still in the right one. Then we noticed that we are late -fortunately with the great help of a nice employee we got our bording passes and went to the gate - some 3km i suppose - at the gate no one was sure if it's the right one for the flight to SLC - they opened it and closed again, let few people for boarding and then closed the gate again. When we arrived into the cabin - we thought, ok then - now we can rest a bit... only 6 hours and we will be in Utah, but... no way - we were standing on the runway for 3 (!) hours withoud been said what's going on. So - after 9 hours we landet in SLC. As for this  short Sky Train ride (which is the subject of this entry) we had plenty of  adventures, i guess :))))
