The wedding day - here comes the rain again...

Weddings - they’re not really the stuff of travel blogs but they seem to be my only reason for travelling anywhere at the moment.

Unfortunately for the couple in question the day of the wedding was possibly the wettest in history.  It slung it down all day.  And it was extremely windy!

The ceremony was held in the Kendal registry offices which was amusingly a bit like the UN as everyone had to sit at little desks with microphones on them which you could speak into.  I’m not sure if they were actually switched on but the temptation to speak into them was overwhelming.

Then it was back into the rain and off in a mini bus to the reception which was in the grounds of some manor house, the name of which now escapes me.

The rest of the day was spent in the usual wedding type shenanigans which could be generally summed up as follows:

Champagne, rain, champagne, rain, wind, photos, marquee, speeches, wine, wind, food, rain, jazz band, rain, drink, caricature artist, rain, wine, drinking, music, cheese, tea, rain, drinking, dancing, drinking, drinking, stop raining, drinking, hog roast, drinking, dancing, drinking, fireworks, drinking, dancing, bus home.  It was at this point things start to get a bit hazy...
