Brussels
Arriving in the afternoon in Brussels, I managed to whirl through most of the major sights, and actually thought they looked prettier at night lit up dramatically. Everything was big, square and imposing, though beautiful in it's own ways, it was a testimony to size. The streets were all cobbled in the tourist area, but it wasn't as pretty as Bruges. Lots of quirky things in Brussels, including strange signs (Claustrophobis - the clothing store) and strange sights (The War on Terror - the Boardgame!). A tour of the comic strip museum was also fun, it had lots of obscure comics, and the contrast between them was marked, from cute smurfs to almost-pornographic ones! The range of beers on offer was amazing, and there are lots of little pubs and bars dotted around - La Bercasse was my favourite.
