Bed & Breakfast At The Fairmont San Jose
Silicon Valley in general, and San Jose in particular, are extremely green friendly, with certified green businesses and an eco-friendly way of life. So it feels really good to be a part of this lifestyle when you drive your Prius into the Fairmont San Jose Hotel, which offers free parking for guests who bring hybrids. The Fairmont is not only green friendly, but its also a nice place to stay for business travelers and geeks, which isn't surprising. But what is surprising is that the Fairmont is family friendly. The hotel offers a Bed & Breakfast package for couples and families, with accomodation in two bedroom suites with connecting rooms and a full American breakfast at the Fountain restaurant, at $169 per night, with cribs and rollaway beds, if needed, available upon request.
The hotel has 731 guest rooms and 74 suites. A two bedroom suite, starting at $149 (without the free breakfast) features one master bedroom with a King bed and a connecting bedroom with a queen bed or two double beds. All rooms offer cable television with pay-per-view movies, high speed internet, a mini-bar, coffee maker, iron & ironing board, bathroom with a seperate shower area and tub.
Dining options at the Fairmont San Jose include the aforementioned Fountain restaurant, which is good for lunch and dinner ( the Chef serves up a fantastic grilled hangar steak), not to mention the free breakfast with a choice assortment of sandwiches and burgers. The Lobby Lounge is a perfect place for some after dinner relaxation with cocktails or coffee. Plus there are some four or five more restaurants and cafes dotting the grounds of the hotel.
You'll end up paying a few extra bucks for add-ons like cribs, rollaways, the mini-bar and internet use. But all said and done, if you're looking for a family hotel in San Jose, no better place to put up at than the Fairmont. Decent mix of basic luxury and economical rates, with more amenities available if you want them.
