Affordable Adirondacks
This motel, located on a quiet street right in the heart of Lake George Village, was quite a value when compared to the other "affordable" places in this touristy town. It was one of the few that were under $100/night. The woman that ran the place, Carol, was a sweetheart and very helpful. They serve a continental breakfast on the patio. The motel is in a current period of some light renovations, which it needed. The rooms are average, but comfy and clean. When you're in the Adirondacks you won't be spending much time in your room anyway. It is located across the street from a historic church, blocks from the hiking trail up Prospect Mountain and only a few blocks from the downtown chock-a-block with activities. Lake George is kind of like an Asbury Park in the mountains. Our room was considered a suite since it had a kitchen with the basic kitchen necessities. Pretty handy is you want to cook for yourself to save money (I didn't). There were plenty of places to eat nearby.
