Balinese Wedding

This is how people from Bali getting married. The ceremony is called Pawiwahan. Wedding is considered as the most important life cycle ritual ceremonies for the Hindu-Balinese. The other one is the tooth filling (Masangih).

Ceremonies set for a certain time may be either running early or late, depending on the availability of the pemangku or, if attending, a pedanda (high priest). The wedding cake will be accompanied by sesajen (offering for God). Many women from the neighbourhood will usually help to cook, to make sure all the guest are well catered. And they are all doing this for free, for the next time they have wedding in their own families, everyone are obliged to come and help as well. Some other neighbour will also help with decoration, welcoming comitte, and all other part of the wedding.
