Our guide took us to the Nabatean city of Avdat. The Nabatean’s were the ones who built Petra and they were the desert merchants that brought the raw materials that perfumes were made from through the desert. They were very progressive with navigating the desert and preserving water. Next we went to a crater and learned about the geology of the Negev desert. Finally we saw David Ben Gurion’s desert home and burial monument. He was the first President of Israel. He believed that the future of Israel with developing the Negev desert and set an example himself. Our final destination was Tel Aviv where we went to the old quarter and saw a part of the city that was very European and full of the arts. We then went to the Ramon Crater where you can actually see the beginning of earth's geology. It was truly breathtaking.
