I worked here for 4 months...loved it. Lots to see and do. I went to loads of shows at the comedy festival, Rhys Darby & Reginald D Hunter were brilliant.

Bristol

I was in Bristol for three months...its freezing in winter. I stayed in Horfield, which really reminded me of Rathmines in Dublin. Beer on Saturday night followed by unhealthy breakfast on Sunday morning. Bristol is quite big, 500,000+ population and you need a car to get around. At the end of my stay I went travelling for a week. I visited the book town Hay-on-Wye which if you're a bookworm is a great place to go to. I also went to Warwick Castle for a day which I would highly recommend. Its owned by Madame Tussauds (of waxwork fame), and the turn-of-the-century wax-people were eerily lifelike. I even asked one of them where the bathroom was.  I hope no-one noticed :)
