Eight Hours in Bohol
It had just been 2 days but it seemed we have done and seen a lot of things already. And today, we were off for Bohol... The supposed "highlight" of this trip.
We took the 6AM OceanJet ferry out of Cebu. This ferry was a lot better than what we have expected it to be--- airconditioned cabin, comfortable seating, systematic check-in and boarding. If not for the 30-minute delay, the 2 hours of sailing with Ocean Jet could have been perfect.
And so when we arrived in Bohol, our tour guide and driver had already waited for almost an hour. And so not to waste any time, fully aware that we will just be staying in the island for 8 hours, we immediately went on with our itinerary. And I am proud to mention here that we have visited all these spots with the very limited time at hand:
The Sanduguan Monument.
The Tarsier Farm --- Had some photo ops with these cute creatures which are actually one (if not the) of the world's smallest primates. The Tarsiers must also be given credit for the popularity the island of Bohol has achieved. It's just sadto know that these animals are considered endangered nowadays.
The Chocolate Hills. This is undoubtedly the most popular attarction in Bohol. It is composed of around 1,200 perfectly cone-shaped hills of about the same size, spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres. They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season. Sometimes considered the "Eighth Wonder of the World", it has been declared the country's 3rd National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Baclayon Church, built in 1727 and is the oldest coral stone church in the region. The church is also one of Asia's oldest and foremost among the best preserved Jesuit-built churches in the Philippines.

We were able to finish everything by 4PM, just in time for our 430PM ferry back to cebu. We left Bohol with lots of great, though short, encounter with nature. I will surely come back to Bohol, and discover the many attractions it showcases.
