This is where we board the boat in the lobby.
My sisters and I escaped to Aruba for the hell of it. Or should I say for the heaven of it? The trip didn't start on the right note since I left my razor on the plane. Keep in mind that my blackberry just broke on Friday so now I feel life my life is really over. Oh wait, I'm in Aruba, scratch that. The weather is amazing, 87 degrees, partly cloudy. Aruba is known for its "boring weather" (the temperature is like this all year round) which is why it's quite costly. We had a choice to stay at the Westin on Palm Beach or Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino in Oranjestad. We opted for the Renaissance because we heard there was a mall in our hotel and we love to shop!!! Who doesn't??? Besides, I know this won't be my only trip to Aruba so it didn't matter to me where we stayed.
Clear blue water.
So the first thing we did was change into our two-piece and head to the beach. The hotel has their own private island for guests but you have to take a boat there. The boat dock is actually in the lobby so we didn't even have to leave the building. The ride is not long at all, I'd say maybe 10 minutes but it's a great experience. Once on Renaissance Island, we set ourselves to tan. The cool thing is Renaissance gives you a card to charge anything to your room, food was a bit expensive but we were starving. The water was very shallow, which I prefer since i don't know how to swim. The view is very relaxing but there are so many kids running around, screaming. That's when we discovered that there's an adults only beach on the opposite side. We still stayed where we were, the day was almost over and these kids were entertaining us anyway.
We had dinner at The Crabhouse at Renaissance Marketplace. We ordered a bottle of red wine. I even had escargot for the first time. It was delish. I had lobster and steak for dinner...that was yummm!!! We were supposed to go back to the room and change to go out but the red wine made my sister sleepy so she fell asleep. I'm tired myself so....GOODNITE!
