something happening here
As much as I am in favor of democracy and all that, I think the royal life would actually not be too bad. I mean, given that I was living the royal life. There were two big castles on the road to Sweden, Frederiksborg Slot in Hillerod and Kronborg Slot of Hamlet fame in Elsinor. But then I found out the Hamlet one wasn't a real castle and word on the street is there's something rotten there anyways, so to Hillerod I went.
Most castles and palaces and all that are kinda the same, so I'll spare you all boring details, but I did notice that unlike most royal residences you see in Europe, there was a lot of art and decor elements from other cultures. And not just Italian renaissance, but China, India, Holland, and all kinds of places. Denmark really is cosmopolitan. I guess being surrounded by water on all sides kind of forces you to be. I even had Thai food while I was here, which, unlike the Thai food in Berlin, did not involve adding peanuts to chow mein and calling it pad thai.
