Wanaka - Queenstown.
November 25, 2004
Waaw, it was too late last night, eehhh this morning :) We, Jos and me (jos) overslept and had just 20 minutes to get dressed, breakfast and packing our stuff. We skipped breakfast! We left with the others at 9 to a photostop at lake Wanaka at Boundery creek. Next stop is Lake Wahea. We arrived a little bit later at Iron mountain in Wanaka. There was a 1 hour walk up the mountain and the same way back. Of course... we didn't. We thought the other path down was quicker. And.... we were right, but we ended at the other site of the mountain. So luckely I had Wai's phone number and SMS'd were we were. No response! Oké, at 1:30 he figured out were we should be and picked us up. We left again at 2:30 to Arrowtown. It is a very old minetown, a cowboy-kind city if you forget the cars and the roads. Its a special town with lots of tourists :( . We had our coffee and a walk in the town and left at 5 to queenstown again. Our hotel is on top of a mountain with views over the lake. It is Greets birthday so we went to her room and after congrats and a view glasses of wine we went back at 6 to prepare for diner. We went with 11 people to an Italian restaurant. The hotelshuttle brought us back to the hotel were we took place at the bar. Unfortunately at 11 the bar closed. No beers in the fridge, so of to bed.
