A corner of paradise

Can travel really change people and prospective of life..starting my blog, my very first blog with a picture of me in London. Not everyday wear really..cant wait for the mask and the make up to drop to reveal what is behind..me, the real me...

A corner of paradise

View from the sky...

I finally decided to go all the way and book my trip to Galapagos..so here I am on a plane flyng in the middle of the ocean to fulfill one of my dreams..

I think today was one of the first time I did not fall asleep on the plane for the excitement..also I must confess I kept on thinking of the cost of the trip..we flew over the clouds for about two hours and never before I seen such an amazing landscape made of fluffy nothing. I really hope if there is a paradise up in the sky, the saints do get to jump up and down those huge marshmallow, my imagination was running so wild i could actually see different clouds taking the most amazing shapes: the Amazon, the rivers, mountains and even a huge waterfall - Niagara or Victoria falls!!

I got welcomed by a very hot and sticky weather and, even if we were at the airport, fresh air: such a releaf after breathing pure CO2 in Quito for days.

..the airport was an astonishment: I m not even sure it does ever doors to be closed at night..and the luggage claim was just a roof over the head..no belt, no electric sign, no sign at all..just a little man checkin the tickets...I so felt in a world on its own I almost forgot to pick my bag up!!

I took a bus to take me to the other side of the Island, which stop halfway and took us to a very expensive short boat ride..

All I kept on thinkin was that I managed to spend in 24hrs what I did spend in one month in Ecuador..I woudl not usually worry that much but still I have to remember that in September I will go back to London, to no job, no house and possibly no money!

The minute we went on the little boat we got greeted by pelicans of the size of a small elicopter, plunging suddendly in the sea to get some lunch.

Then I turn my head and I saw a big seal sunbathing..suddendly all the money spent just to come here got so worth it..

Yes, will be probably very broke and will have to be eating Almuerzo - set dinner and lunch with soup, juice and rice- for two months but I might not have the chance to come back here anymore and I cannot live my Galapagos experience to the max...

Now the real adventure begins, in the magical land where everything is changing by the minute and islands are draught apart by the volcans under the ocean..maybe as a sign that the further they will be, the better the human race will be looking after them.

The Galapagos is really a once-in-a-lifetime amazing trip. I don't think there is anywhere else on the planet like it. Definitely expensive, but worth every penny I think. I went there when I was quite young and have always wanted to go back since. I can never forget how magical it was!
