I just finished celebrating New Years in Afghanistan and decided to fly to Thailand.

A few days in Bangkok

The village of Ao Nang in Southern Thailand.
Fresh from celebrating new years I jumped a plane from Dubai to Bangkok.
I had no idea what to expect flying in to Bangkok. I'd been told so many different things. There are so many misconceptions about thailand.
I will agree it's what you make of it though. You want to relax on the beach and eat shrimp. Easy enough to do. Get drunk as hell and listen to live bands, it happens quite a bit. Eat some awesome food up in the mountains and enjoy a little peace.  Of course if you want to dive in to the darker side of the country that is there too.  I had expected to see prostitutes every where I went the way people had described it to me.
Not true, I didn't see any in the McDonalds. Yeah, I hadn't had McDonalds in a year, I was going through a fat detox due to all the healthy Asian food I was eatting and had to stop in to remind myself deep down  I am an American.
