  • Today we said good-bye to all our Lazy-Daze friends, again.
  • We drove to Cape Lookout, which was only a total of 70 miles, but we got to do some fun things so it was all right.
  • We went to the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory. It was so cool because we were able to watch them making the cheese through a sheet of glass. There were also videos of what happens to the cheese when they are in the machine so now I am an expert cheese maker! The best part, though, was the ice cream at the end. It was really good!
  • We headed on to get a campsite at the Cape Lookout State Park. We got a great site where the only thing blocking you and the beach was a giant dome, so we could still hear the ocean. The only negative thing was mosquitoes were terrible! They were huge and really hungry. Oh, well. The Pacific water was COLD!
  • We went on to dinner. It was really good but we ordered too much! I didn’t think we would be able to eat all of it, but some how we managed. We had clam chowder, crab and shrimp stuffed portabella mushroom with cheese, halibut fish and chips, and pizza.
  • We went to the air museum where they store the giant blimp. We weren’t able to go inside because it was closed but the place where they stored it was huge! There was also an airplane there that we could see very close up. It was very big.
  • We walked to a lighthouse. I was surprised how short it was. It was on a cliff so it was still a lot higher up than the ocean but still, the trees next to it were taller!
  • We then went and saw the octopus tree. It was a Sitka tree that had giant branches sticking out of it. It was very neat because all the tree branches were so thick that the tree looked like it had 8 trunks!
