Mesa Verde
We went to the famous, Mesa Verde, and explored the ancient Indian ruins. We only planned on staying a few hours, but when we saw the map and how many things there were to see, we just had to stay overnight.
We started our visit by going to the campground to look around and set up camp. I read a book in the hammock while mom stayed inside the R.V. reading about our visit. Charlie and Lia ran around the campground, making a secret fort they named Terribithia.
After that, we went through a dark tunnel and continued on to multiple overlooks, such as the Montezuma Valley Overlook, Park Point Overlook, and the Geologic Overlook. The Geologic Overlook was the highest point in the park, so we were able to get cell phone service.
We continued on to the Visitors Center, then to the museum, where we watched a 30 min. video and read all about the Indians who once lived there. We then saw lots of tiny villages and houses with kivas. They were all very cool.
After that, we went to bed and that is the end of my educational day.
