Grand Canyon

Like Henry David Thoreau said “An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day”, so why not take his advice and take an early morning walk at Mesa Verde? We walked the Knife Edge Trail and it was beautiful.

After that, we drove a little ways to the 4 Corners, where we took a picture and went shopping. We bought a wonderful sand art tile from a woman who collected her own stones and ground them herself. She said she would not let anyone else ground them because they always added a dye to make them brighter and she found it prettier if it was all natural. I found that neat.

We then drove on for a long time, until we reached the Grand Canyon National Park. Since the main campsites were full, we have to stay in Desert View Campground, where we can’t see the Grand Canyon, but we did get the bikes out and rode around. When the park ranger told us the sun was setting , we ran all the way down to the amphitheater and took a bunch of pictures of it over the canyon. We then came back to our camper and went to bed. Good night! J
