I spent a week in Costa Rica the summer of 2003. I flew into San Jose and spent time at Mt. Arenal Volcano, Tabacon Hot Springs, Monteverde Cloud forest and then over for a couple days on the beaches of Papagayo

Tabacon Hot Springs

I spent part of the day at the Tabacon Hot Springs on my way to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge.  It was late afternoon into early evening and I was hoping to get some photos of Mt. Arenal and a lava flow but it was obscured by low clouds so I just relaxed in the springs.  There is a very nice resort there on site as well as some eco-lodges at the base of Arenal. When I come back to costa rica I plan on spending a couple of days in this area.

I love this place! and if one is lucky will be able to see the lava from the volcano. The spa is a must!.
