Wednesday March 12 at 4.30am.
I meet at my friends house and when all four of us are there, we pack the car, drink a cup of coffee and are ready to take off. During our trip we had a lot of rainshowers so we couldn't make advantage of the great German Highways (no speedlimits). But 8 hours later, after a little traffic jam we arrived in a very rainy Westendorf. We went directly to the lovely family where we also stayed the last three years. It is still raining a lot but they tell us that it will stop late in the afternoon. After unpacking we go to a rental shop to rent skies and shoes for a friend of us, we also buy a three day ticket for the "skiwelt-area".
After 3.00pm you can take the lift to the ski area for free (if you have a lift ticket for next day)......but it' still raining and we are not sure what to do. Of course we're only a few days here to ski, but to get wet on the first day.......?? The guy that sells the lift tickets tells us that up in the mountains it's snowing instead of raining.....so that makes our choice a lot easier. But today we are lucky, even before we have put on our ski shoes it stops raining and even better....the sun starts shining. So the beginning was good.....just one hour skiing in the sun, enjoying a drink afterwards and early to bed.....it's been a long day....up to the next one, our first full day on skies :D
