Didn't get up too early today, but it was fair enough! I went with the two other girls from my room to check out Riga. First we went to some pretty big malls close to the central station which had lots of nice boutiqes with familiars brands such as Guess, Chanel, Dior and Ralph Lauren. After checking out the big malls we went further in to the city to check it out. Riga is a city of contrasts. It is very grey and much of it looks vary poor. But the suddenly between two old and destroyed buildings there is a really nice and renovated one. You see a lot of old people there, especially women, begging for money. But then you have the group in their 20's or 30's which seems to be increadably well off! And the car park in Latvia is waaaay more exclusive than the one in Norway.
I have never seen that many jaguar, porsche and lexus car at once before. And a woman from the Norwegian embasse told us about a new Audi for 2008. In Norway they are planning to sell 1 or 2 during the year, but in Latvia, they have sold 12 allready in 2008! So the contrasts are pretty amazing..
This afternoon we had dinner at an ok restaurant i don't recall the name of before having a pre-party in our room (as always). Try to fit almost 30 people in a room made for 10!! yeah it was pretty tight.. :P But it was lots of un and we got some great pictures out of it!! Later we went to a nightclub called "Essential", which next to Skyline is the hottest in town we were told. Lucy enough we were let in the VIP entrance and only paid 3 Lats and got a free CD, haha :P
But the club was pretty awesome, with good music and lots of space! But the prices for alcohol there was the same as in Norway, so this turned out to be the most expensive night out.. :P But we had a great time and partied until the early hours!
