London Eye

We stayed at the Royal National last night after catching the train from Wales.  We booked through contiki because it was a little cheaper.  Today we got up early and bought a ticket from the tour desk for the hop on hop off bus tour.  It goes to every major attraction in London and you can get off and on whenever you like.  This is a must when travelling around London as it is the easiest and most efficient way to see absolutely everything!!

At first we just sat on the bus for a while and did a loop of the city.  Our first stop was the London Eye.  Luckily we had bought our tickets at the Royal National so we only had to line up once.  The line looked really long but moved really fast and we only waited about half an hour.

It was really hot today too so we were glad we weren't out in the sun for too long! The London Eye goes up so high and I am quite scared of heights, so I sat on the bench away from the glass and admired the view from there.  It wasn't until our capsule began making its way down that I gained the confidence to stand up and have a proper look around.

After we hopped off, we had lunch and then hopped back on the double decker and took in the sights some more.  We saw Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Trafalgar square, the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.  We hopped off at Picadilly Circus and took some pics, before walking to Leicester Square an buying tickets to Billy Elliott.

We then caught the underground back to the hotel.  We had a huge day so had a quick lay down before getting ready for the night. We were meeting our friend Louise and her sister for dinner, and Louise was going to come with us to the musical.  We met Louise at Covent garden and had dinner at a Japanese restaurant.  We then caught the underground to Victoria Palace to see Billy Elliott.

Billy Elliott was so good!! and it was surreal watching it in London aswell!! Afterward we all caught the undeground and Bree and I hopped off at Russell Square while Louise continued on to her stop.  We planned to catch up with her once more in the short time we had left in London.  We didn't get home until midnight and we went straight to bed.  We had another full day of sightseeing tomorrow.
