the guys watching a DVD after work
I'm having a harder time coming up with these stupid titles, geesh!  Original, huh.  Sunday was a pretty good day.  I got up relatively early and took a cab to a store that I've been wanting to go to since I arrived.  It's called Playground and is a very modern 3 level building that sells lots of random gadgets, has a couple cafe's and a great magazine/CD selection.  I had breakfast at Starbucks and then perused the magazine section.  They had over two months of back issues of gossip magazines!!  I only allowed myself to get one though.  I met up with they guys back at the apartment and we decided to go see a movie, another thing I've been wanting to do here.  They have VIP movie theaters and we'd been talking about going for a while.
starbucks for breakfast... boring I know but I thought it was pretty
The only movie showing at the right time was 16 Blocks, something I wouldn't have seen normally but it turned out to be really good.  The theater in in the top floor of the biggest mall here and has a ton of theaters, but the VIP one is off to the side and you enter through sliding glass doors into a posh bar that seems like it should be in a fancy hotel.  When we got our tickets we reserved our seats through an electronic floor plan on a computer, so we handed our tickets to the ushers and they brought us to our "seats."  The seats are like big recliners and separated into groups of two with a little wall around the back and sides.  The ushers showed us how to use our seats and then tucked us in!  Each seat had a pillow and blanket and we all bundled up because it was freeeeeeeezing in there.

We also ordered popcorn and they brought it to us!  Actually the popcorn was probably the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten and it made me feel sick for the whole day, but that was ok.  It was still a really fun time.  Next I did some quick shopping at Emporium and then some errands at Tesco.  By that time it was 8 at night so I stopped at my favorite noodle place and had dinner.  Soon enough it was monday morning and back to work.  I organized some new boxes of equipment in the storeroom and then spent a while scrubbing duct tape residue off the wires on deck.  After lunch I did more of the same and also spent a couple hours wiping teflon gel residue off every single thread of some huge turnbuckles.  It was actually quite enjoyable.  We ended the day with a movie in the van which we are watching the end of right now in the crew room.  I'm not sure what's on the schedule for this next week but I'm hoping it involves some sea trials!
