Ket, Wendy and Anna.
It was the day that I would have my first meet-up. Because it was close to were I live, oké 2 hours by train, I contacted Wendy that I would be there. First only on the 13th, but it was looking that the meeting would be at the 12th , so Wendy asked me if it was possible to come on the 12th. No problem, I took an extra day of to be there also on the 12th. (Thanks boss).
The start would be at 4 o’clock but I was already there at 3. I did not want to be late at my first meet-up; that’s why! I called Wendy were she was and she told me that she was at Park Plaza Brasserie with Ket (Ketmeister) and were already having a drink.
Inside the bazar.
It was close to the station so I found them within 5 minutes. It was nice talking to Wendy and Ket and I new them now a little bit better. At 4 O’clock we went to the Koffiehuis for the meetup and slowly the others were all entering. First there was Rudolph, then Dennis and Johan. Later arrived Max and Suat, and the last one was Anna. She came immediately after work. The group was complete --> lets go to the Restaurant BAZAR. We took the tram, walking was a little bit to far. Suat new which tram and we followed him, also the last 200 meter, which we had to walk. Inside the Bazar I was surprised by the decoration of the restaurant. Our table was already set for diner with 10 persons. We were only 9 because Sonja had to cancel. The service was good but also was the waiting…. They new that Wendy was coming: there was a poster with “Fries meisje”. Explanation: Wendy is from Friesland in the Netherlands.
My diner.
(See picture) The food was good and we had a lot of talking to do with each other. After this we went for a drink in a bar. Lucky we had Suat: he knows his way in Amsterdam so he brought us to a nice bar Bar-ça and the talking went on and on. I didn’t know that we could tell each other so much about our travels. Slowly the TB-ers went home. The last ones left together and Johan showed Wendy and me the way to our hostels near the vondelpark. I had to go also in that direction so I brought Wendy to her hostel. After this it was for me only a 5 minute walk to my hotel and a 5 minute search….. It was a stay-over hotel with a lot of young people from all over the world. I had booked a single room, but unfortunately I was the last one that checked in and they put me at the top floor with a large double bed. Lucky me…. I slept very well in the big bed and no noise at all.
