Unfortunately, I was not a very strong blader and was always at the back...no matter how hard I tried to go faster! One male staff and a friend I met had to help me slow down on the slopes that we encountered. The staff and the friend spoke in French and apparently the staff member was saying how he felt like superman having girls attach themselves onto him while on those slopes! Swelled head indeed! Lol
Even though Paris is very flat, it is very different when you're on a set of wheels!!! On the most challenging and longest slope, a girl had fallen and was so badly injured, an ambulance had to be called.
It was fantastic. They have an interval of 20 min for people to catch their breath. My friend assisted me with making my way back to the hostel. At 12:20am we reached our destination and pulled out of the crowd. I watched them zoom by and the police escort them down the road as we parted. There was still a short way to go before we reached my hostel. My friend escorted me to the corner and said goodbye. I never saw him again.
