closing night party and broward center for the performing arts
Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day here in Ft Lauderdale. Jenn and I laid on the beach for a long time, and I got a little sunburned because I could not be bothered to come inside. I just want to enjoy it while I have it, because soon enough we will be in Buffalo in the middle of winter. Gotta take advantage of the sun and surf while its there. There is a big ship of some sort that is stuck on a reef right off the coast by our hotel... we could see it all day yesterday, just sitting there, and we were a little curious as to what the hell was happening with it. When we went inside, it was all over the news because it is grounded on this protected reef. It's still there today, so I guess high tide didn't help at all. Miami/Ft. Lauderdale is a good place for a news junkie like me!!
I went to the theatre (Broward Center for the Performing Arts) for the first time last night.
The cast is in a really interesting place this last week. They are all really emotional, but it's pulling these fantastic performances out of them. They are always terrific, but last night, I was blown away. I'm sorry to see some of them leaving, because I've barely gotten a chance to know them. Yet at the same time, I'm excited to get to know the people coming in. Last night was the closing night party, even though the actual closing night is Sunday. This way they could have a fun time, and not have to worry about being up early this morning. I think they all had a good time -- Jenn and Aaron planned a fun night for them. I stayed later than I wanted, but I got to sleep in today, so it was fine.
