Today was a pretty fun day. McKenzie has been talking about how she wants to get to know some of the people in the village a little better as more of a friend than a volunteer or "missionary". So she arranged for us to hang out with a couple of the girls today. First, we ran a couple errands in town and went to the internet cafe for awhile. Then we went to the local school to pick up Dinnah. She is 17 and in grade nine. Then we picked up Lisa from her house. She is 26 and a mother of two little girls. We went into Rundu
and took the girls to lunch at the Forget Me Not coffee shop, which was a nice treat for them. Then we went to the open market to look for hair extensions. The girls change their hair all the time, and McKenzie and I thought it would be fun to try it. We found some for Mac at the open market, and found some for me at one of the local salons. Then we picked up some more supplies...thread and needles, etc, and a couple things the girls wanted. Then we went to Lisa's house and they did our hair for us. We had lots of spectators. Everyone kept walking by peeking in the door to see the white girls getting their hair done like the Africans!
