It used to be scary!
And now it's beautiful to me...
As a kid I used to be so scared of thunder storms...probably because we didn't have them very often. I remember freaking out because I didn't really know where those noises were coming from or why everything was so loud! After moving to the midwest, I am now a huge fan of these thunder storms. I come to welcome them after a hot muggy day because I know once the storm clears, so will that blasted humidity that seems to linger all throughout the summer months. I took this picture on a quick visit to St. Louis where a good friend of mine lives. I must have taken 50 pictures trying to actually catch the lightning on film, so when I finally got this shot I was ecstatic! It may not be the best lightning photography but because it took me so long to get it, I love it!
