Miso + Seaweed Salad = Crazy Delicious
Since I am unemployed (well I work part time at a pub on weekends), I realized that I spend lots of my time and non-existing money on going out to different places with my friends from home. It only dawned on me a couple of days ago (because I am that bright) that Toronto has tons of things to offer! I guess I sort of resented that. Anyways, I decided to dedicate a blog on events, restaurants and activities in and around my hometown for other travelers to consider attending or indulging in. I'll try my best to leave websites and such on here. Unfortunately, since I only live a bourgeoisie life and am a far cry from having a Paris Hilton lifestyle, some places I do go to are random hole in the walls. Fun, but not on the map locals. I will try my best in those situations to describe how I drunkenly stumbled in to that area if I can not find any contact info.
It may not look it, but best sushi ever!
So let’s get this show started... For the week of March 10th I went to....
Scene: Ginza Sushi www.ginzasushi.ca 7330 Yonge St, Thronhill, ON and Bubble Tea and Me (Right beside Ginza)
Cast: My Thornhill Ladies (Jo, Sam and Michelle) or as we like to call ourselves, The Jew Crew etc. (we had to add in the etc. because I am not Jewish).
Let me tell you, after one taste of their Kamacachi roll, I swear I thought there was a party in my mouth and everyone and their mother was invited! It was that good.

We didn't really know how popular this place was until Jo and Mish went to Cuba and someone found out they were from Thornhill and the person actually asked "so...you know about Ginza Sushi." Right there tells you that it has international status. (okay, not like naked chef international status, but you get my point). The place is very affordable. It cost me about $16 for two rolls, a miso soup and a seaweed salad. I know I may sound like a broken record but again, the food here was amazing. Unfortunately, the service was not really up to par. They forgot some of our orders, but it didn't really bother us. Sushi doesn't really take that long to make.
Bubble Tea and Me was a quick stop for us. We just went there to prolong our night of catching up on our gossip. Prices are average for bubble tea drinks. Service was awful. We had to go to the counter and order ourselves and we had to go back up to pay. Regardless, we left a tip anyways.
Honey milk green tea with tapioca. My signature bubble tea order.
Scene: Flirty Girl Fitness http://toronto.flirtygirlfitness.com/ 462 Wellington St. W
Cast: Kath (my old roomie from uni: I am such a poet) and I
I highly recommend this place to any female travelers who come to Toronto. There are only two flirty girl locations: Toronto and Chicago so might as well swing by if you are around. The concept is simple; it is fitness class, sexy style. Sure you may feel like a slut at first thinking: Why do I want to learn how to pole dance again. But let me tell you, these trips of mine are getting quite expensive, and my part time waitressing job can't support them any longer.
If I can't find a job soon...well...
And for all the ladies who need quick money and a quick 'how to' lesson. Well, this is the place to start. HAHAH. J/K. But in all seriousness, Flirty Girl is located in the heart of Downtown Toronto so it is mostly a place where young urban professional females go to to work out. No males allowed sorry guys (and don't try pulling a Mrs. Doubtfire by plastering on fake boobs and a dress, you will get caught). They offer fun classes such as Pole Dancing, Video Vixen, Burlesque, Hip Hop Booty Camp, Go Go Girl, Chair Striptease, Striptease (make sure you wear layers), Coyote Ugly, Dancehall Jungle and much more. This is a fun place to go to for a night out with the girls, but be warned, it is very strenuous and be prepared to sweat!
Location: The Scotland Yard www.scotlandyard.ca 56 The Esplanade
Cast: Katherine
Kath and I decided to go to the Scotland Yard after our workout to pig out on some bar food. The food was really good and they had football and hockey on so I couldn't complain. Again, this is located in the Esplanade so you have more so the business men types after their long day at work in their bank offices or whatever they do in those buildings coming in for a pint with their co-workers. They had $5 domestic pints as a special on Wednesdays which are cheap for that area. I opted for a Guinness thank you very much!
