Through the snow and over the passes - headed north

Rock Springs Travel Blog › entry 25 of 29 › view all entries

After a wonderful winter of skiing in Big Sky, MT, we are headed to CA in our travel trailer to visit Mary, Dave and the grand girls. We'll hike in the 4 Corners area on the way back. We'll return to Big Sky in mid-April to pack up for a trip east for the summer. We'll leave Big Sky again on May 1st, visit friends on the way to Boston, MA where we'll fly to Germany on May 18th. We'll return on June 25th and spend the summer in New Hampshire and New England.

Through the snow and over the passes - headed north

We had a little wet snow in Moab, UT overnight. It was pretty on the red rocks around town. We headed north into a headwind. The Uinta Mountans and the Flaming Gorge Recreation Area had lots of snow. We traveled over passes that were 9,000 feet and another of 7,800 feet. There was lots and lots of snow on both passes, but the road was generally dry. There was a little drifting snow, but is was mostly in the southbound lane. When we got to Green River/Rock Springs, WY a windy wet snow squall had just ended. The night is cold - with temps predicted to be in the mid-20s. Hope the water in the trailer does not freeze!
