Looking around Bluff, UT
We spent the day looking around Bluff, UT, after doing the laundry, and Jean cleaning the travel trailer. The laundromat is the best one we have ever been in. It is big, clean, things work & the lady who works there is very nice. Next to the laundromat is a farm with llamas. Then we spotted a wild tom turkey on his way to have a few with the boys.
We visited Historic Bluff with some of the original buildings. We found an archeological dig on top of a hill. It was a two story building with great views. Nearby was the town cemetary with some unusual graves. One pair of graves was from brothers who ran a rock and mineral shop. Their graves were covered with interesting rock and mineral samples. Got a photo of a lizard too.
The owner of the local gift shop was very a local Bulff fellow and filled us in an a lot of the history of the area.
We visited Recapture Pocket and saw some interesting sandstone formations. We then went to Sandy Island Visitors Center on the San Juan River. There are several petrolgyph panels which are specticular.
