Lake Powell and Monument Valley

After a wonderful winter of skiing in Big Sky, MT, we are headed to CA in our travel trailer to visit Mary, Dave and the grand girls. We'll hike in the 4 Corners area on the way back. We'll return to Big Sky in mid-April to pack up for a trip east for the summer. We'll leave Big Sky again on May 1st, visit friends on the way to Boston, MA where we'll fly to Germany on May 18th. We'll return on June 25th and spend the summer in New Hampshire and New England.

Lake Powell and Monument Valley

We headed east and north to our base for hiking the Grand Gulch. On the way we passed Glen Canyon Dam across the Colorado River to form Lake Powell and we crossed the Moument Valley. Both were spectacular. (I seem to use that word a lot in these blogs, but, well, it is spectacular.) We had a couple of sprinkles on the windshield, a few clouds in the sky - otherwise the temps were in the 70s. Very pleasant.
