Getting Ready to Travel

On Friday, we picked up our new travel trailer. It was an inauspicious start, as it was snowing pretty heavily here in Big Sky. But, the snow stopped as we left the canyon and headed to Bozeman. We picked up the trailer at the dealers, and then headed to the local KOA to hitch it up, try out the various systems, remember what we saved from our old trailer, and, generaly, get it ready to travel. We went on a shopping expedition to outfit it with throw rugs, hooks to hang things on, etc.
The main difference between the new travel trailer and the old is that the new one is three feet longer. What we gain is a queen sized bed, which is always set up. No more converting the dining room table and seating to our bed. Overal, it is very comfortable for the two of us, and tows well behind the truck.
We'll begin to stock the trailer's larder today, clean up a few items in Big Sky on Monday, celebrate Saint Patrick's Day with a corned beef and cabbage dinner with our friends Nancy and Joan, and head to California on Tuesday. There are snowflakes displayed for every day of 7 day weather forecast, so I hope we can slip (poor choice of words!) through between snows. If the route through West Yellowstone, MT and Ashton, ID is too snowy, we'll take I-90 west to Butte & then south on I-15.
