After a wonderful winter of skiing in Big Sky, MT, we are headed to CA in our travel trailer to visit Mary, Dave and the grand girls. We'll hike in the 4 Corners area on the way back. We'll return to Big Sky in mid-April to pack up for a trip east for the summer. We'll leave Big Sky again on May 1st, visit friends on the way to Boston, MA where we'll fly to Germany on May 18th. We'll return on June 25th and spend the summer in New Hampshire and New England.

Collins Canyon, The Narrows and Bannister Ruins

It took a drive of 65 miles from Bluff, UT, but we hiked Collins Canyon two miles into Grand Gulch. We saw lots of interesting rock formations, including a .3 mi. side trip to "The Narrows" where the the Grand Gulch watercourse narrows to about eight feet. We discovered an interesting panel of petroglyphs and pictographs near "The Narrows". We moved on 2.5 miles upstream to Bannister Ruins. On the way we saw three pair of chukka. We hiked 12 miles and were pooped when we were done.
