Having lost my job i had lots of free time, and being that i enjoy taking photographs i decided it would make a great place for some pictures. I was right, its a very pretty place with alot to do.
I would suggest those who do visit, go during the summer as it does tend to get very blowy and wet, but during the summer you'll find alot of things to do and see.
Theres beaches which obviously are good for sitting on.... .Theres also nearby arcades, a pleasure pier and lots of quant shops to visit. An icecream shop is right on the main car park with a large historic observation tower. At the bottom of the crumbling cliff there is a row of pillboxes that once lined the top of the cliff prepped for the German invasion in WWII. The sea has now claimed them.
I remember I visited Walton on the naze at school with geography class to find out about the needed sea defences which apparently have still not arrived.
One word of warning...I ignored the warning signs and tried to climb down one of the lesser steep cliffs with catastophic consequences as i sank a few feet down into wet mud. Dont allow children (or no-it-all men) along the cliff unsupervised.
