The Kids...
February 28, 2008
Today was an eye-opener. I may go back on what I am saying here at some point...but really truely I will never complain about ANYTHING...the rest of my life. I spent the day in a one room school house teaching a very excited bunch of kids English...that was a mess. Then I went on a water run to the well. This is where it comes to me not complaining...I have always taken for granted the ease at which I can have water...just a flip of the faucet. These kids (ages 7-15) have to go to the well 4 times a day each. The well is about a 3 km round trip...and on the return when the jugs are full and heavy...the trip is up hill. I went once and the only thing then kept me going was the kids around me not complaining and knowing they were all on the 3rd trip of the day.
Rockin Club Scean!!
I didn't actually go myself, but I was told by an American who had been in the area for 9 months that the club scean in Kampala is actually pretty fun. Not something to do alone (especially as a female) but the locals all get dressed to kill for the evening.
Friday is the night to go, Saturday night no one is out because everyone goes to church on Sundays.
