Nashville to Jonesboro...a pretty drive but Long

This business trip included stops in Nashville, Jonesboro, Bald Knob & Little Rock Arkansas and Norman, Oklahoma in four days. Day one was the worst as I left the house at 6:15 AM but didn't arrive in Jonesboro until 6 PM. It went downhill a bit before coming back up. This blog will contain no jokes about Arkansas or Oklahoma even though as a Texan...I'm awfully tempted!

Nashville to Jonesboro...a pretty drive but Long

Going from Nashville to Jonesboro was no easy task.  Instead of driving through Memphis and up to Jonesboro, I cut across the Mississippi going through the Boot Hill of Missouri.  It was a very pretty drive.  Not a lot to see but some pleasant scenary.  Rice fields always look interesting to me, maybe I should visit the Far East.  The problems started on the last 60 miles of the trip.  The roads in Northeast Arkanasas are tiny, the people drive quite slowly and there are too many big trucks.  It ended up taking me 90 minutes to travel what should have taken 45 to 50 minutes.

Long story short.  Flying into Nashville and driving over to Jonesboro is NOT advised.  Memphis is your best option but of course it costs a lot to fly into that airport (poor competition).  Little Rock is the next best option.  I may try St. Louis the next time I get in a jam.
