Soller , Mallorca
From Palma...take the joyride to Soller on a vintage train through the mountains! Set in a lush valley of orange grove between the mountains and the sea. Soller has two museums worth visiting. The Natural Science Museum, a 19th century manor house and the Museu de Soller is a 18th century town house. It's better to come here by train, rather than car from Palma. The climb over the Coll de Soller, is the most terrifying drive in Mallorca. The train journey from Palma is a delight!
To take the ride on a vintage electric train: start point Plaza d'Espanya, Palma 1.5 hours each way, from Soller town area it takes 20 minutes to complete the 5km journey to the Port de Soller. This small resort and their small harbour is very interesting you'll enjoy the several tapas bars, cafes, restaurants and local ice cream shops.
