bus To La Paz was good but it is kinda like being put n a can and shake up driving on the dirt and stone roads. got here 7am yesterday. it s one of the most stunning cities i have ever seen, sprawling over hills are thousands of broken down building and there are people everywhere!!!

went for a look around and went to the coca museum which was super interesting. i tried to get us into the san pedro prison today but we can only go tomorrow, we are gona have a think about trying to cahnge our bus tickets back a day. If any of you have read the book marching powder it is that prision, it would be an amazing experience (its also an amazing book for those of you who havent read it.)
well we decided to change our bus tickets and stay in la paz an extra day so that we could go to san pedro prision, so glad we did it was amazing. got the phone number of one of the inmates from a girl at our hostel and run and arranged a time to visit him as family. we are clearly not related to each other or a blac south african but give the guards money and they turn a blind eye.
went in and took the guys some pressies, cigarettes, coffee, biscuits, booze. there were 4 of them looking after us, kenneth rom south africa, another young south african guy, stewart from zimbabwe, and francisco from portugal. all of them were in for drug traffiking. such sweet guys,  i kid you not, we felt totally safe the whole time we were in there.
they gave us a tour (for those of you who have read the book we were in posta not population which is not the really bad you will get stabbed side) they all have rooms they have to pay for, restaurants, a gym, a massage palour. we hung out in franciscos room after which has a separate bathroom, kitchen, double bed, cable tv and drunk some whisky with them. unreal to hear their stories.
such positive guys for such a terrible situation. some would never do it again and one of them has 5kg of cocaine waiting for him to move when he gets out, he has already served time in pakistan and is being looked for by interpol, not so smart but he says he wont let them beat him.
