Before the Bloom.
March 11, 2008
I took these pictures about a week ago...I was not thinking of putting them up, but after seeing Rudolph's and Marit's photo's I couldn't help myself. I realised then that just before the bloom...holds many, many, many magical moments that we can miss or forget if we don't thake the picture and share. So here I am.... thanks guys.
I called this blog before the bloom...because it is spring. Everything is just coming out of sleep from the winter...and everything is coming awake. Little spashes of color can be seen with the first bloom. Tiny snow drops are coming up first...winter pansies have had their bloom, and new ones are starting to appear. Winter roses are just coming out, daffoldils are starting to peek, but mostly are still in their budding stage. The crocus has been here for a bit, the migrating birds are starting to appear, hummingbirds (the boys), are coming to the feeders, the red house finch are coming about....it is such an awesome time of re-birth...the promise of so much to come.
Winter sleep is almost done...it is still chilly in the air, and windy, and much rain, but when the sun does come out...it is so warm and it brings everything to life. The birds sing their songs from early moring to dawn. Then of course you can't forget the insects, they seem to come out in great droves at the first sign of sun...but then they need to feed the birds. The swallows are not here yet....officiating spring, but they should be here is a few weeks time. I have seen a ladybug already this year (no camera in hand), so I know I look forward to the coming heat of summer.
So please enjoy this spring blog and as things start to bloom...so shall this blog.
