Diving with the dolphins and exploring the island

In may 2005 we went on a trip to the Caribic island of Curacao. We staid in the Lions Dive and Beach Resort a very nice accomodation. Curacao is the largest island of the Dutch Antilles. It's always warm here and you can catch a sunburn instandly , you don't notice the heat because of the Pasatwind blowing over the island. The north coast is very rough and not suitable for diving, while the south coast very quiet is with lots of idillic lagunas and beaches. (Beautiful)!! The first week on the island we joined The Ultimate Ocean Encounter, that means a week only diving, yeahh!!! The first two dives we made we were very lucky, because the ocean was so calm that we dove on the north side of the island. The rest of the week was awsome. It's beautiful under water, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
On our last day of the diveprogram we joined a bbq in the evening at the diveschool. Here we met George a nice guy who happened to be the headtrainer of the dolphins in the sea aquarium. I told him that I had read about a trainingprogram of diving with the dolphins of the aquarium in open seas. He told us the dolphins were not ready yet. After a few glasses of wine and a nice conversation he stood up and wanted to leave the diveschool. At the doorway he turned around and invited us to come to the aquarium in the morning with our divinggear. Wauw how lucky can you get?? The next morning we had a briefing in the aquarium and they asked us to get into the ocean on the back side of the aqarium. A photographer and a guy with a filmcamera joined us. We had to dive till 10 metres deep and wait for the dolphins to come to us.
After our diving adventures we had to see the island too. We rented a car and got on our way. You can explore the island in two days. We started in Willemstad and walked over the famous "pontjesbrug", Queen Emmabridge.
