Fun, wet and wild:)
Today is March 8th and in Norway it's women's day, but for me that means nothing much then another day. This day would be different from the other since we had made plans on visiting the winterpark close to Lillehammer. A friend of mine, Liz aka quest here on TB, had been there a few weeks earlier and told me about the place and me having kids had an extra excuse for going there. They are only open 2 a week, wednesday and saturday, and the last day for the season would be March 15th so not many days to make it there for me.
We got up at a good hour and made lunch to bring with us, 9 double sandwiches would keep us until dinner time as well as two thermoses with warm drinks on incase we got cold. Before heading there we had to go and get Kristoffer's winter shoes but unlucky they were too small but that didn't keep us from going. We had put on clothes for being outside for a number of hours and had eaten breakfast as well so while we were driving to the winterpark our driver, Tarjei, said he was hungry. My god we hadn't even driven out of the area he lived in before he had eaten 3 double sandwiches and my son Kristoffer had managed to eat 4 so that ment it was 2 left. I grabbed one quickly so i could at least have one of them...haha Anyways, we got to the park around 16:30 PM and despite the weather there were quite a lot of people there.
We payed got inside had a look at the area map, went into the Bergans store to find out about the High rope course and out heading for the troll where there were a slide. We were sliding, sparking "kicking" (the thing with a seat in the front and made of wood), ice-bowling, curling, Quad Bike, mini snow-scooters, some other car thing, ice hotel + bar and The Cathedral. There was just so much to do but Kris he just loved the mini snow-scooter and stood in line to try over and over again. He didn't even stop when the guy working there put his hand up for when their round was over and they had to stop..LOL...either he ignored it or just didn't see it ha ha...
As for the record i was just as bad in ice-bowling as in indoor bowling lol but believe me i had just as much fun even if i only knocked 2 or 3 down haha :) The curling was fun too and i had the mop but the "ball" went past me before i managed to sweep the ground so that's how good i was:) By now it was just raining a lot and we were all wet but didn't let that stop us. We went into the Trollpath and scared ourself haha and some woman brought her Paris Hilton dog with her in there. Lets hope the dog will rest inpeace after that silly stunt or maybe its been trained for that haha... Kristoffer and i tried the Gladiator but no photos due to Tarjei not understanding how to use the camera LOL....We had pretty much been through every activity but the High rope course wasn't dueable in Kristoffer's eyes since he was getting cold. So we're back in summer 2008 for the high rope yeah:)
So if you are in Norway and have time to go here i highly recommend it:)
