The dance off!

I was extremely tired today despite getting loads of sleep last night. Today we were supposed to do a “Community Outreach Tour” including a visit to a project run to street kids, an overnight stay in a home stay and getting up at 3am to do a hike to see nice views of Mt Bromo. This morning we decided we were too tired to do the home stay/hike so we decided to just see the kids instead. It was amazing! At first we felt awkward and uncomfortable with the kids, and they were quite shy. We started playing with them and gradually they began to warm to us, until they were hanging off us! We did handstands, cartwheels, skipping, and had a dance off with 7-10 year olds! They were the most amazing kids ever and were so full of energy! We had dinner with them before we left.
Today we relaxed. We swam in the pool and headed to Malioboro Market to buy a whole lot of really cheap rubbish. I did find a fantastic pair of sandals for $10,ooorp though! For dinner we went to Kobra Restaurant (some guy from the hotel who Megan had been chatting up had recommended it) We ate Cobra (as in the snake), lemon chicken, mie goring, fried squid as well as sea leech. It wasn’t as bad as it sounded, I probably wouldn’t order that kind of stuff again thought. We almost turned around and left the restaurant as soon as we arrived as it had this really strong weird smell, you got used to it though.
We got another early night tonight as tomorrow we have to get up for our Jamu tour!
